Local Hero

Burt Lancaster plays Felix Happer, a multi-millionaire oil magnate who despatches Peter Riegert's character to Scotland to buy up a village to turn it into an oil refinery. As he arrives, he is taken for a ride by the locals, who try to milk him for as much cash as they can. In the process, Happer strikes up a rapport with Fulton Mackay's character, who owns a beachside property that holds the key to stopping the deal.
