Magnificent Obsession

A spoiled playboy, Robert Merrick (Robert Taylor), tries to redeem himself after his careless behavior causes a great man's death. Irene Dunne plays Helen Hudson, the widow of Dr. Hudson, whom Merrick falls in love with and attempts to help blind her after she gets out of his car. Through his devotion, he uncovers her husband's philosophy that true reward comes from helping others without seeking recognition, ultimately leading to their reunion and marriage.
