Never Take Candy from a Stranger

The Carter family, consisting of Peter (Patrick Allen), his wife Sally (Gwen Watford), and their 9-year-old daughter Jean (Janina Faye), moves to a small Canadian town where Peter has been hired as school principal. Their idyll is shattered when Jean becomes the victim of an elderly and powerful paedophile, Clarence Olderberry Sr. (Felix Aylmer). The case goes to trial, but with an obviously stacked jury and in an atmosphere of extreme hostility towards the Carters, Jean's credibility is called into question. The film follows their struggle for justice as they face opposition from those with influence and power, ultimately leading to a shocking revelation about the true extent of Olderberry Sr.'s crimes.
