Route 666

Government agents are besieged by the ghosts of a massacred chain gang while driving down a desert highway in this action horror film about a mob informer hiding out with the Witness Protection Program. As they flee from hitmen, the group unwittingly picks up the spirits of four prisoners who died on an abandoned stretch of Route 666, earning its notorious reputation after a tragic accident involving a prison chain gang. The journey is nice, the setting gorgeous, and the acting great, but the movie's cheap look and feel hold it back from being more than just a mediocre thriller.
