The Bells of St. Mary's

Father Chuck O'Malley (Bing Crosby) and Sister Mary Benedict (Ingrid Bergman), a nun, work together to save their parochial school from being shut down despite their differing methods and gentle disagreements. Their efforts are partly driven by the need to secure a new building donation from grumpy businessman Horace P. Bogardus (Henry Travers). As they try to help Mary Gallagher's daughter Patsy, who was abandoned by her father, find stability and success at the school, their interactions also lead to personal growth and redemption for those involved, ultimately saving the school and its community.
