American Me

In "American Me," Edward James Olmos stars as Montoya Santana, a young Latino man who rises from street-gang leader to powerful prison gang boss in California's infamous Mexican Mafia. Spanning 30 years of Chicano gang life, the film follows Santana's journey as he navigates racism, violence, and loyalty, all while trying to leave his violent past behind. But when old gang buddies force him back into his old habits, Santana must confront the error of his ways and decide whether redemption is possible.
