Nurse Betty

A small-town Kansas waitress, suffering a nervous breakdown after witnessing her husband's murder, escapes into a fugue state, assuming the identity of a character from her favorite soap opera, where she pursues her idealized "ex-fiancé", a surgeon on the show, while being pursued by two hitmen. In Los Angeles, she finds work as a nurse and becomes embroiled in a complex web of reality and fantasy, leading to a heartwarming romance with the actor who plays her beloved character.
