The Solid Gold Cadillac

Judy Holliday stars as Laura Partridge, a feisty small stockholder who attends her first stockholder meeting, where she repeatedly questions the board of directors from their salaries to their operations. After being hired by the company to keep her occupied, Laura gains the assistance of her secretary, Amelia, and begins to write personalized letters to the stockholders, gaining their trust and ultimately discovering the company's corrupt practices. With the help of her new friends, Laura convinces the company's founder, Edward L. McKeever, to return and retake control of the company, and the two eventually get married, receiving a gleaming solid gold Cadillac as a wedding gift.
