Battle Beyond the Stars

A young farmer assembles a band of diverse mercenaries to defend his peaceful planet from an evil tyrant, John Saxon as Sador, ruler of the Malmori Empire. Shad (Richard Thomas), a young man with no experience in warfare, ventures into space to enlist the aid of several mercenaries, including Cowboy (George Peppard), a freighter-pilot from Earth. He also recruits a set of five alien clones named Nestor, who share a group consciousness, and Gelt, a wealthy assassin. As they prepare for battle, they face various challenges and enemies, including the ruthless Sador, who demands their planet's harvest in exchange for his return.
