House of Sand and Fog

A struggling Iranian immigrant, Massoud Behrani (Ben Kingsley), buys a house in Northern California with the intention of improving and selling it to send his son to college. However, the house is owned by Kathy Nicolo (Jennifer Connelly), a former drug addict who has lost her home due to an unfair legal dispute with the county. As both characters become desperate to reclaim their homes, they are drawn into a difficult moral dilemma that ultimately leads to the destruction of five lives.
