Martin Eden

Martin Eden is a 2019 Italian-French historical romance drama film loosely based on the novel of the same name by Jack London. The film follows an illiterate sailor, Luca Marinelli as Martin Eden, who rescues a young boy and falls in love with his sister, Elena (Jessica Cressy). Determined to improve his life, Martin becomes involved in socialist circles, bringing him into conflict with Elena and her bourgeois world, and is influenced by the elderly intellectual Russ Brissenden (Carlo Cecchi).
