Disappearances

Disappearances is a 2006 independent film directed by Jay Craven, starring Kris Kristofferson as Quebec Bill Bonhomme, a hardy schemer and dreamer who resorts to whiskey-smuggling to raise money to preserve his endangered herd. He takes his son, Wild Bill, played by Charlie McDermott, on the journey, accompanied by Henry Coville, an inscrutable whiskey smuggler, and Rat Kinneson, Quebec Bill's perpetually disconsolate ex-con hired man, as they cross the border into Canadian wilderness for an unforgettable four days "full of terror, full of wonder".
