Maverick

Bret Maverick, played by Mel Gibson, is a skilled card player and con artist who sets out to win a high-stakes poker game on the paddle steamer Lauren Belle. Joined by young con artist Annabelle Bransford and Marshal Zane Cooper, a lawman with a soft spot for Maverick, the trio embarks on a series of adventures, from swindling a Russian archduke to outsmarting their enemies. With Maverick's quick wit and cunning, he ultimately emerges victorious in the winner-takes-all tournament, but not without a few unexpected twists and turns.
