Ophélia

A 1963 French drama film, "Ophélia" directed by Claude Chabrol, tells the story of a young man, André Jocelyn, who becomes enraged when his mother remarries his wealthy uncle after his father's death. The disturbed young man becomes obsessed with the idea that his life mirrors that of William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, and he imposes the story and characters onto those around him. His mother, Alida Valli, and stepfather, Claude Cerval, are reluctant to accept his accusations, while his love interest, Juliette Mayniel, tries to comfort him.
