Baroness Alida Maria Laura Altenburger von Marckenstein-Frauenberg, known professionally as Alida Valli or simply Valli, was a renowned Italian actress. With over 100 film credits spanning seven decades, she rose to international success post-World War II and collaborated with prominent directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Michelangelo Antonioni. Valli received the Lifetime Achievement Golden Lion at the 1997 Venice Film Festival for her contributions to cinema. She was invested a Knight of the Italian Republic during her lifetime.
