The Babe

The film tells the story of Babe Ruth's life, from his childhood in a Baltimore orphanage to his rise to baseball superstardiam and his poignant retirement from the game. John Goodman plays Babe Ruth, and the film covers his personal life and career with the Red Sox, trade to New York, and decline in health and career that ends with him walking away from the game. The film also explores Ruth's relationships, including his marriages and his famous rivalry with Ty Cobb.
