Mental

The film "Mental" follows a mysterious, surly hitchhiker named Shaz who is enlisted to care for five teenage daughters whose mother has cracked under the pressure of her husband's political ambitions and infidelity. Shaz, played by Toni Collette, terrifies the girls into obedience with her ocker accent and the knife she keeps in her cowboy boot, but also encourages them to stand up to local bullies and find their own strength. As Shaz's influence grows, the Moochmore family is forced to confront their own demons, including Barry Moochmore, played by Anthony LaPaglia, whose own mental health issues come to light. In the end, the family must band together to support each other and find a new sense of normalcy.
