Omoide no Mânî

Anna Sasaki, a 12-year-old girl with low self-esteem and asthma, is sent to spend summer break with her foster relatives in a rural seaside town. There, she meets a mysterious girl named Marnie, who is blonde-haired and has beautiful blue eyes, and becomes infatuated with her. As the summer progresses, Anna spends more time with Marnie and learns the truth about her family and adoption. Marnie, whose real name is revealed to be Emily, is the granddaughter of a woman who was once a patient at a sanatorium, where her mother, Marnie, spent time after the death of her husband. Anna's connection to Marnie and her family brings closure to her identity, as she discovers she is Emily's daughter and Marnie's granddaughter.
