The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada

When a U.S. Border Patrol officer kills a Mexican illegal immigrant, Pete Perkins, a rancher and friend of the victim, kidnaps the officer, forcing him to exhume the corpse and embark on a surreal journey to fulfill the promise he made to bury the deceased in his Mexican hometown. Along the way, they encounter a series of surrealistic encounters, including an elderly blind man and a group of illegal immigrants. Ultimately, they reach a ruined house in Mexico, where they bury the body for the third and final time, with Perkins demanding the officer's forgiveness for the killing.
