In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. Led by Lt. Aldo Raine, the team crosses paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris, Shosanna Dreyfus, which is targeted by the soldiers. The film tells an alternate history story of two converging plots to assassinate Nazi Germany's leadership at a Paris cinema, one through a British operation and another by Shosanna herself, pitted against Hans Landa, an SS colonel with a fearsome reputation.
