In the 1975 Western film "Against a Crooked Sky", Richard Boone plays a broken-down, drunk prospector who joins Stewart Petersen's character Sam Sutter on a perilous quest to rescue his sister Charlotte from a mysterious Indian tribe. Along the way, they face treacherous terrain, hostile enemies, and a deadly ritual test to save Charlotte's life. Ultimately, it is Charlotte who dies, not as Sam had hoped, but the truth is revealed, and Charlotte returns home with a new child.
