Mauvaises herbes

"Mauvaises herbes" (Bad Seeds) is a 2018 French comedy-drama film written and directed by Kheiron, who also plays the lead role of Waël, a con man forced to work as a mentor for a group of troubled teenagers. After swindling the wrong person, Waël and his adoptive mother Monique (Catherine Deneuve) are recruited by Victor, an old acquaintance, to work for him on a volunteer basis. As Waël gains the confidence of the teenagers, including Nadia (Ouassima Zrouki), Shana (Louison Blivet), and Ludo (Youssouf Wague), he learns to connect with them on a deeper level and helps them overcome their struggles, ultimately inspiring them to change their lives without expectation of payment.
