Catherine Deneuve is a French actress considered one of the greatest European actresses on film. She gained recognition for her portrayals of icy, aloof, and mysterious beauties under esteemed directors such as Jacques Demy, Luis Buñuel, François Truffaut, and Roman Polanski. A 14-time César Award nominee, she won for her performances in Truffaut's The Last Metro (1980) and Régis Wargnier's Indochine (1992). She was ranked one of the greatest actors of the 21st century by The New York Times in 2020.
