CBGB

The film "CBGB" (2013) tells the story of Hilly Kristal, a divorced man who opens a bar in 1970s New York City with his business partner Merv Ferguson. Despite initial setbacks, the bar becomes a hub for the burgeoning punk rock scene, with bands like Blondie, Patti Smith, and The Ramones getting their start. However, Kristal's poor management of the bar's finances and his failure to pay bills lead to the bar's near-closure. With the help of his daughter Lisa and a group of grateful friends, Kristal is able to stabilize the situation and keep the bar open, including a memorable audition by The Police.
