Alberto Colombo (Claudio Bisio), a post office manager from Brianza, fakes a disability to get a transfer to Milan, but is instead sent to a small town in Campania, where he struggles to adapt to the local culture. There, he befriends his co-workers, including Mattia Volpe (Alessandro Siani) and Maria Flagello (Valentina Lodovini), and eventually wins over his wife Silvia (Angela Finocchiaro) with the help of the community, who pull a ruse to make her believe the south is more challenging than it actually is.
