Pierrot le fou

Jean-Paul Belmondo as Ferdinand Griffon, the unhappily married man who escapes his bourgeois lifestyle and runs away with Marianne Renoir, a young woman being chased by OAS hitmen from Algeria. Following Marianne into her apartment and finding a corpse, Ferdinand and Marianne, whom he calls "Pierrot," embark on a crime spree from Paris to the Mediterranean Sea, always on the run from the police and the gangsters. Their relationship becomes strained as they settle down in the French Riviera and eventually separates, leading to a tragic confrontation.
