Xi you fu yao pian

Tang Sanzang dreams of becoming a giant and retrieving Sutra, where his master rewards him a halo in India. He awakens in an alley in a village of circus performers with his three disciples: Sun Wukong; Zhu Bajie; and Sha Wujing. Tang encourages Wukong to perform for the villagers, who refuses. An angered Tang calls Wukong a "bad monkey", which causes him to ransack the village. Tang whips Wukong for his disobedience. The group encounters a house with a maiden who welcomes them for breakfast, but Wukong sees through their disguises as spider demons. They battle the spider, and Wukong defeats it, but Tang attempts to exorcise her. Later, Wukong discusses his plans to kill Tang, but their conflict is resolved when a blinding ray of light intervenes. The group continues their journey, arriving in the capital city of Biqiu Kingdom, where they meet the immature and childlike king. Wukong pastes an "obedience sticker" on Tang to make him perform stunts for the king, but Wukong goes too far. Tang turns the Red Boy, a disguise of the king, into a toy and releases the true king, who presents them with a beautiful maiden, Felicity, to accompany them on their travels. However, Felicity is revealed to be a demon, and Wukong destroys the village where she lives. Tang stops Wukong, and they eventually discover the truth about Felicity and Jiu Gong's plan to make Wukong kill Tang. The group continues their journey to the West, with Tang and Wukong making amends.
