Beyond the Pole

Beyond the Pole is a 2009 British mockumentary film that follows the first carbon neutral, organic, vegetarian expedition to the North Pole. Uptight Mark (Stephen Mangan) and his good-natured friend Brian (Rhys Thomas) lead the expedition, with the help of logistical support from the United Kingdom, including Brian's wife Sandra and Mark's friend Graham. The documentary director, Helen Baxendale, tries to keep the team safe while filming their journey, which becomes a life and death race against a confident gay Olympic Norwegian team led by Alexander Skarsgård.
