"Protégé" is a 2007 Hong Kong-Singaporean crime drama film written and directed by Derek Yee. The film stars Andy Lau, Daniel Wu, Louis Koo, and Zhang Jingchu. Undercover officer Nick, played by Daniel Wu, becomes torn between his loyalty to his environment and the money, leading to a disastrous end. The film follows Nick's downfall and his quest for revenge after Kwan, his mentor, and the woman he fell for, Fan, die under tragic circumstances.
