Biography

Zhang Jingchu is a Chinese film actress known for her versatility and international acclaim. Raised in a modest countryside family, she rose to prominence with her breakout role in Peacock (2005), which won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. This breakthrough was followed by critically acclaimed films such as Tsui Hark’s Seven Swords (2005) and Ann Hui’s Night and Fog (2009).
