Qing mei zhu ma

Taipei Story follows the tumultuous relationship between Ah-chen (Tsai Chin) and Ah-lung (Hou Hsiao-hsien), childhood sweethearts navigating the challenges of modernizing Taipei and their own identities. As Ah-lung struggles to reconcile his traditional past with Ah-chen's desire for a future, their relationship becomes increasingly strained, culminating in a tragic confrontation that leaves Ah-lung's fate uncertain.
