City of Hope

City of Hope is a gritty inner-city film set in a fictional New Jersey city, following various characters living in a troubled setting, most notably Nick Rinaldi, the disillusioned son of corrupt property developer Joe Rinaldi, played by Tony Lo Bianco. The film centers on Nick's aimless life, his drug addiction, and his involvement in a botched robbery, as he navigates the corrupt system and confronts his own demons. Meanwhile, idealistic black alderman Wynn, played by Joe Morton, and young black boys are caught up in a scandal involving a professor and a jogger, highlighting the tensions of urban life and the American way of life.
