Almost an Angel

Terry Dean (Paul Hogan), a professional burglar, is hit by a car while saving a young boy and awakens in a heavenly place, where he meets God (Charlton Heston) who tells him he's on probation and must do good things to make up for his past life. Terry tries to make amends, but is soon confronted by police, and in a dramatic turn, his friend Steve Garner (Elias Koteas), who is terminally ill, helps him escape, and after Steve's death, Terry's transformation is confirmed when he is spared from death by a truck, proving he has become an angel.
