Sans toit ni loi

Mona Bergeron (Sandrine Bonnaire) is a young, rootless girl who roams the countryside living from hand to mouth, craving freedom over comfort. Her life is presented episodically as she encounters various people, including a goat-herder, a pot-smoker, a handsome Tunisian grape-picker, and a curmudgeonly old lady. Through her struggles, Mona's desire for freedom ultimately leads to her demise, which is revealed through the discovery of her frozen body in a ditch in the French countryside.
