Tenki no ko

High schooler Hodaka Morishima runs away from home to Tokyo, where he finds work as a freelance writer and meets Hina Amano, an orphaned girl who can control the weather. They befriend Suga, a businessman who helps them publish a small occult magazine, and later, Hina's younger brother Nagi. As Hina's abilities become a hit, they must deal with the consequences of her powers, including the legend of the "Sunshine Girls" and the "Weather Maidens" who can control the rain. Hodaka and Hina's friendship blossoms into romance, but their happiness is threatened by the rain and the authorities, who seek to capture Hina. Three years later, Hodaka returns to Tokyo and reunites with Hina, who has been praying on a street overlooking the drowned city.
