Lola

In the seaside French town of Nantes, a young man, Roland Cassard, played by Marc Michel, is smitten with Lola, a cabaret dancer and single mother, played by Anouk Aimée, a woman he knew as a teenager. Roland's infatuation with Lola is rekindled, but she is now preoccupied with Michel, who abandoned her years earlier, and American sailor Frankie, who vies for her heart. As Roland struggles to win Lola's affections, he gets involved in a diamond-smuggling plot and crosses paths with a young girl, Cécile, who bears a resemblance to Lola. In the end, Michel returns to Nantes, and Lola leaves with him, just as she had always promised.
