Ji jie hao

The film follows Captain Gu Zidi (Zhang Hanyu), a PLA soldier trying to gain recognition for his comrades who died in 1948, at a turning point in the civil war between the communists and the nationalist forces of the Kuomintang. As Gu tries to come to terms with the loss of his men, he befriends Political Officer Wang Jincun (Yuan Wenkang), who becomes the 9th Company's new political commissar. The film's plot is marked by intense battles and heavy casualties, as Gu and his surviving men defend a coal mine against enemy forces.
