Wang Baoqiang is a Chinese actor, director, and martial artist born on May 29, 1984, in Nanhe County, Xingtai, Hebei, China. At the age of 8, he was inspired by Jet Li's Shaolin Temple to train in Shaolin martial arts despite his family's opposition. Wang made his breakthrough with the independent film Blind Shaft (2003), earning him a Best New Performer prize at the Golden Horse Awards and launching his successful career.
