Loin des hommes

Daru, a reclusive, pacifist pied-noir teacher and war veteran (Viggo Mortensen), is tasked with delivering Mohammad, a docile Algerian murder suspect (Reda Kateb), into the hands of French authorities as the Algerian War of Independence ignites. Daru forms an unexpected bond with Mohamed, as he sets up a bed for him, tends to him when he falls sick, and eventually agrees to take him to the authorities.
