Reda Kateb is a French actor born on July 27, 1977, to an Algerian actor and a French nurse of Czech and Italian origin. A grandnephew of the renowned Algerian writer Kateb Yacine, he grew up in Paris before moving to Montreuil in 2011. His short film Pitchoune gained recognition at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival's Directors' Fortnight section, showcasing his early talent as a director and actor.
