Eve's Bayou

In 1962, Eve Batiste, a 10-year-old girl, lives in a prosperous Creole-American community in Louisiana with her brother Poe and sister Cisely. Their father Louis, a well-respected doctor, has secrets that affect the family, including infidelity. Eve's relationship with her parents becomes strained as she discovers evidence of her father's infidelity, while Cisely navigates puberty and tries to maintain a connection with her father. Eve seeks refuge with her aunt Mozelle, a hoodoo practitioner, and later commissions a voodoo spell to put a fatal curse on her father, leading to a tragic outcome.
