The Runner Stumbles

In 1911, Father Brian Rivard, a Catholic priest, finds himself at the center of a scandal when he confesses his love to Sister Rita, a young nun who has moved into the rectory. As their relationship deepens, a monsignor from the diocese arrives to warn Father Rivard, setting off gossip and suspicions. Characterized by a dispirited tone, the film explores themes of love, loyalty, and tragedy.
