Ray Bolger
Biography
Ray Bolger began his career in vaudeville as half of the team "Sanford and Bolger," later performing solo on Broadway before signing with MGM in 1936. His breakout role came as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (1939), a part he convinced MGM to swap him into after initially being cast for the Tin Woodman. He went on to have success in musical theatre, television, and film, including his own sitcom "Where's Raymond?" (1953) before passing away in 1987 at age 83.
