Stakeout

Two detectives, Chris Lecce (Richard Dreyfuss) and Bill Reimers (Emilio Estevez), are assigned to a stakeout of Maria McGuire, the ex-girlfriend of a recently escaped convict, Richard "Stick" Montgomery. As they spy on Maria, Lecce falls in love with her, but their professionalism is put to the test when Montgomery starts to make his move. A shootout ensues, leading to a thrilling climax at a paper mill, where Lecce ultimately confronts and kills Montgomery.
