The Magdalene Sisters

Three young Irish women, Margaret, Bernadette, and Rose, struggle to maintain their spirits while they endure dehumanizing abuse as inmates of a Magdalene Sisters Asylum. Characterized as sadistic and almost inhuman, Sister Bridget relishes the money the business receives and subjects the women to horrific cruelty and violence, including physical abuse and sexual harassment. As the years pass, the women find ways to resist and eventually escape, with Bernadette and Rose triumphing over their captors and finding a measure of freedom and redemption.
