Heaven & Earth

In a small Vietnamese village torn apart by war, a young woman named Le Ly faces unimaginable horrors before deciding to escape to the city. There, she encounters a compassionate Marine, Steve Butler, played by Tommy Lee Jones, who offers her hope and a chance at a new life, igniting the possibility of a future together. Their relationship falters due to the toll of war on Steve, who becomes uncontrollably violent, leading to a tragic outcome. The film is based on the memoirs of Le Ly Hayslip, who experienced the Vietnam War firsthand, and explores themes of war crimes, domestic violence, and interracial relationships.
