Chuka

A wandering gunman, Chuka (Rod Taylor), rides into an Arapaho camp, giving food to the starving campmates. He then crosses paths with a stagecoach, where he meets Senora Veronica Kleitz (Luciana Paluzzi), a widow he once loved but was forced to leave due to his lowly status. Chuka accompanies the coach to a nearby U.S. Army fort, where he becomes embroiled in a tense standoff with the Arapaho war chief, Hanu, and the fort's commander, Colonel Stuart Valois (John Mills), who has a troubled past of suspected cowardice and physical and psychological scars. As the Arapahos attack the fort, Chuka's instincts and shooting skills help the soldiers, but ultimately, the fort falls to the attackers, and Chuka, along with Lieutenant Daly's niece, Helena Chavez, escapes, leaving behind the body of Kleitz, whom he had reunited with briefly before her death.
