Heaven Can Wait

Joe Pendleton, a backup quarterback for the National Football League's Los Angeles Rams, is mistakenly taken to heaven by his guardian angel, only to discover he was not ready to die. With his original body cremated, a new body must be found, and that of a recently-murdered millionaire is chosen. Joe, played by Warren Beatty, buys the Rams and plans to lead them to the Super Bowl as their quarterback, while also falling in love with an environmental activist, Betty Logan, and navigating his new life with the help of his friend and Rams trainer, Max Corkle.
