The Ruling Class

The film "The Ruling Class" is a 1972 British black comedy about a paranoid schizophrenic British nobleman, Jack 14th Earl of Gurney, played by Peter O'Toole, who inherits a peerage and thinks he is Jesus Christ. Jack's eccentric family and friends plot to steal his inheritance, but their schemes fail, leading to disastrous results. As Jack's mental state deteriorates, he believes he is the "God of Love" and undergoes various treatments, including electroshock therapy, with tragic consequences.
