One Crazy Summer

One Crazy Summer is a 1986 American romantic comedy film about an aspiring teenage cartoonist and his friends who come to the aid of a singer trying to save her family property from developers on Nantucket Island. Hoops McCann (John Cusack) joins his friends to help Cassandra (Demi Moore), a free-spirited hitchhiker, save her grandfather's house from the greedy Beckersted family. Along the way, Hoops must find a way to write his unrealized cartoon love story and navigate a series of misadventures with his friends, including a motorcycle gang and a regatta competition.
